Problem to solve: sloping terrain did not provide an area to sit and relax.

Solution was made by terracing the sloped area with a new rock wall, which creates a grass area to sit and relax.

Problem to solve: fix interior planter at front door entrance with low light plants and color.

Solution was made by selecting plants that work in low light conditions plus a bonus water feature for ambiance.

Problem to solve: new construction, lacks plants and privacy.

Solution was made by creating a planting border with low rock wall to define personal space and privacy.

Problem to solve: new public church looking for an attractive planting theme to help them stand out along a busy road.

Solution was made by selecting a few plants species with high contrasting color and mass them for volume.

Aloha! I’m Emmanuelle, a landscape designer with a deep love for Hawaii’s plants, climate, and natural rhythms. My approach blends formal training with hands-in-the-soil experience and a lifelong passion for restoring balance in the environments we live in.
I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I first fell in love with landscape architecture and the building arts. During my studies, I worked as a private gardener, caring for plants day after day and learning firsthand what they need to truly thrive. That early experience shaped the foundation of my design philosophy: right plant, right place.
Over the years, I’ve worked alongside architects, landscape architects, craftspeople, and builders, gaining insight into how outdoor spaces function as living systems. This background allows me to design landscapes that are beautiful, sustainable, and practical for Hawaii’s unique microclimates.
I’m especially inspired by bamboo—both as a regenerative building material and as a graceful, sculptural presence in the landscape. I love creating gardens that support bees, butterflies, birds, and the many pollinators that keep our ecosystems alive.
My mission is simple:
Restore balance, support biodiversity, and create landscapes that conserve Hawaii’s precious resources.
If you’re looking for a designer who cares deeply about plants, wildlife, and the long-term health of your land, I’d love to help you create a space that thrives.
